All the old plates, cutlery, glasses, mugs, furniture, etc. would be brought from home and set up in the bach. It did not matter a bit if things did not match. Faded curtains were quite acceptable, and as long as bedclothes were respectable, and there was plenty of food, beer, wine, warmth, and laughter, everybody was happy.
The tradition remains to this day, but demand has made some properties rather unaffordable!
