Artist's Comments: Faux Chenille is created by layering multiple layers of fabric, sewing on the bias grain across the fabric in multiple rows evenly spaced and then slashing between the rows and through all layers except the base which holds the fabric together. The fabric is then washed and the cut edges 'bloom' creating a chenille-like finish. It is always very exciting to await the washed 'piece' and to see what gem has been brought to life". |
