Silk Fusion - an Exhibition by Robin King

Silk Fusion (silk paper) is created using wallpaper paste when the silk is going to be used with a stabilizer and interlocking stitching to hold all the fibres together permanently.
The paste can be washed away, once stitching using a water soluble stabilizer is completed, leaving a soft drape able fabric.
Silk Fusion made with Textile medium can also be used as above, before the dried sheet of silk fusion has been heat set with an iron. Just a few of Robin's creations are shown below:
For further information, call in and visit Robin's display.

Silk Fusion (Silk paper) can be used for all the same purposes you would use fabric or paper for.
It can be painted, embossed, stitched. Wet down with a PVA mix of 10 parts water to one part PVA, and moulded to form shapes and allowed to dry on the mould being used. As backgrounds for photos and scrapbooking. The silk fusion can also be used in rubber stamping. Also finished sheets can be mounted and framed as art and wall hangings.
Cut to shapes and designs for applique and patchwork.
